Bidens pilosa L. (Asteraceae)

Bidens pilosa

Noms malgaches :

Noms vernaculaires : Villebagae,

D'origine inconnue, pantropicale, commune dans les terrains incultes. Plante annuelle, érigée, souvent divergente, à rameaux rouges avec des feuilles trifoliolées et un fleuron à fleurs ligulées blanches, non ligulées, jaune d'or, donnant des graines piquantes, fortement adhérentes.

Stomachique, astringent, sialagogue, peut remplacer le pyrèthre. Diarrhées, dysenteries, 25 fleurs en infusion (DARUTY, 1911).

En Afrique, réputée styptique. Employée aussi dans la conjonctivite et les inflammations intestinales en infusion ou macération dans l'eau salée (de Wild.).

Infusion des fleurs dans la diarrhée chez les Zoulous (BRYANT).

Infusion dans les rhumatismes en Afrique du Sud (WATT, 1909).
